I’m Ryan Selby, a BACP-registered integrative psychotherapist. I help adults, young people (11–18) and couples with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties and the patterns that keep repeating, in person in Wokingham and online across the UK. Drawing on CBT, attachment theory and a person-centred approach, I focus on understanding why patterns happen, not just managing symptoms, so the support you get is genuine, practical and shaped entirely around you.
From Counselling and Retreats to Online Workshops and Training Courses, every service is designed to help you heal, grow, and reconnect with your surroundings

I started counselling as I was struggling with things in my life but I now feel so much more at peace. I am continuing with Ryan and do not plan to stop any time soon as it gives me a place to reflect over my week where I can vent, rant or cry as well as a place to make sure I am staying on top of things!

Due to being older than Ryan, I was not sure if it would work, however I could not have been more wrong! He has helped me through some really tough times and I have come out of the other side of it stronger. The person I was when I first started counselling and the person I am now are very different. Thank you Ryan!

I have had 4 therapists previously and was slowly giving up on therapy before I started with Ryan. He has helped my depression and anxiety so much and I now feel like I am able to be the best version of myself. The journey has been hard but I am so glad I stuck through it. I came with a variety of different issues, some of which I wasn’t even aware of, and everything was discussed in detail which helped so much. Thank you for everything!

I started seeing Ryan when I was in school and he massively helped me develop my confidence as well as supporting me with other issues. I would definitely recommend Ryan to anyone as he's easy to talk to and non judgemental no matter the context.Posted on Google

Ryan has been an absolute God send. My daughter was experiencing some awful mental health issues just before her GCSEs and CAMHS were failing her badly . He took his time to get to know her and helped her a lot with self reflection and healing. Proper individual help that really makes a difference.Posted on Google

I’ve been working with Ryan for almost a year now, and it has made such a positive difference in my life. I’ve been struggling with dissociation for the past three years, and before starting therapy I often felt lost and overwhelmed. Ryan has taught me so much about what dissociation is, why it happens, and has given me practical tools that help me manage it in daily life. What stands out most is the safe, supportive space he creates. I feel comfortable sharing my trauma without fear of judgment, and I know I will be heard, understood, and believed. He genuinely listens and remembers what we’ve discussed, which has been incredibly meaningful—especially after past experiences where I didn’t feel that same level of support. Ryan also challenges me in ways that build confidence. When I tell myself I can’t do something, he gently pushes back and shows me evidence that I can. Having that encouragement has helped me grow and see myself in a more capable light. I am very grateful for everything I’ve learned and the progress I’ve made through working with Ryan. If you are looking for a therapist who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in your growth, I highly recommend him.Posted on Google

Ryan was the perfect fit for our son who was supported by him for over 2 years from the age of 12. We got our son back through his battle with OCD, which I'm forever grateful for and wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ryan or asking for his help again should we need. Our son continued with his counselling long after achieving huge milestones which is testament to how supported he felt in his daily teenage life, by Ryan.Posted on Google

I can't recommend Ryan enough, he has been a brilliant mentor for our Grandson and really supported him during the past 18 months during his transition from a pre-teen into a teenager. Ryan provided a safe and supportive environment where our grandson was able to discuss any worries and concerns in complete confidence. The pre-teen and teen stages of boyhood are difficult for most kids nowadays as they grow up in such a different environment. Covid and Social Media has had such a huge effect on these kids. Ryan was able to encourage and support our grandson and showed him how to cope with his emotions. I'm happy to say that with the support of Ryan and the encouragement from his senior school, our grandson has come through this difficult stage and although not perfect (who is), has become a happy, energetic teenager who not only still enjoys gaming, but is doing fantastically well in both his sporting and academic achievements and enjoying life in general. Although he does not need to see Ryan on a regular basis anymore, we will be keeping in touch every five/six months so that he can provide Ryan with an update of any achievements, and as importantly, discuss any future emotional concerns as he moves through his teenage years knowing that he will be able to discuss any problems in absolute confidence.Posted on Google

Speaking with Ryan was such an eye opening and insightful experience. - He was unbiased and was very understanding to my many issues I wanted to talk about. - I have recommended his services to my friends and continue to recommend to people I think would benefit from it. Thank you again Ryan
