If you keep having the same argument about different things, or you’ve started to feel more like housemates than partners, couples counselling gives you both a space to understand what’s happening between you and find a better way back to each other.
Most couples who come to me aren’t short on love. They’re stuck in a pattern: one of you pushes to talk things through, the other pulls away, and every disagreement ends up in the same place. Together we’ll slow that pattern down, understand where each of you learned your part in it, and build a way of talking that you can both actually hear.
I work integratively, drawing on attachment theory, CBT and a person-centred approach. I don’t take sides, and sessions aren’t about deciding who’s right.
A 50-minute session is £90, in person in Wokingham or online. It starts with a free 15-minute call, so you can both see whether it feels right.
Whatever’s bringing you here, we’ll work through it together, at a pace that feels safe for both of you.
→ Notice the pattern underneath the topic
→ Step out of the pursue-and-withdraw cycle
→ Disagree without it turning into a fight
→ Rebuild a connection that’s drifted
→ Say what you need, not just what’s wrong
→ Feel heard by each other again
→ Rebuild trust after it’s been damaged
→ Navigate big changes and decisions together
→ Understand how your pasts show up now
Not a referee, but a space where both of you can be honest and understood.
Understand the cycle you both get caught in, so you can step out of it together.
A neutral space where neither of you has to win for the conversation to work.
Learn to say the vulnerable thing underneath the criticism, so it’s easier to hear.
See how each of your pasts shapes the way you react, and soften the blame that builds up.

I started counselling as I was struggling with things in my life but I now feel so much more at peace. I am continuing with Ryan and do not plan to stop any time soon as it gives me a place to reflect over my week where I can vent, rant or cry as well as a place to make sure I am staying on top of things!

Due to being older than Ryan, I was not sure if it would work, however I could not have been more wrong! He has helped me through some really tough times and I have come out of the other side of it stronger. The person I was when I first started counselling and the person I am now are very different. Thank you Ryan!

I have had 4 therapists previously and was slowly giving up on therapy before I started with Ryan. He has helped my depression and anxiety so much and I now feel like I am able to be the best version of myself. The journey has been hard but I am so glad I stuck through it. I came with a variety of different issues, some of which I wasn’t even aware of, and everything was discussed in detail which helped so much. Thank you for everything!
